コンタドールツール・ド・フランス直前に電撃移籍！？
A source within the team told Bicycling that when Astana looked like it would default on its obligations, a new structure had been set up to supercede it. Two different sources close to the team confirmed, also anonymously, that the team name was going to be Livestrong-Nike.
やっぱり財政問題は色々チームに影響があったようで、Team Astanaはほぼ間違いなくLivestrong-Nikeへ衣替えの模様。
元々ランス・アームストロングは自信のチームを2010年にも立ち上げたい、との意向があったので少なくとも来期にはAstanaはLivestrong-Nikeへ移行だろう。ランスのおかげでサイクリングウェアから撤退していたNike社も恐らくサイクリング界にカムバックだ。資金に問題はまず起こらないだろう。
日本人の小森選手も所属するLivestrong U23チームもあるし、有望な選手は青田買いしてそのまま上位チームLivestrong-Nikeにあげてしまうってルートも既に出来ている。体制は盤石に思われる。少なくとも現状のアスタナよりは。
The source within the team said that 2007 Tour de France winner Alberto Contador assured manager Johan Bruyneel of his desire to stay with Livestrong-Nike, but was at the same time also quietly talking with Garmin-Slipstream about switching teams should Astana default on his contract. Garmin manager Jonathan Vaughters could not immediately be reached for comment. Sources have also confirmed that Contador was in discussions with Caisse d’Epargne.
Significantly, the Astana team source said, Garmin was said to be not only signing Contador, but also his Astana teammates Benjamin Noval, Sergio Paulinho, and bringing aboard Contador’s preferred mechanic and soigneur from Astana.
That deal was initially set to be announced last Saturday (and, according to the team source, Felt bikes were already on the way to Contador), and the Livestrong-Nike deal, said two of Bicycling’s sources, was also alive until just before the weekend.
コンタドールの移籍先はガーミン・スリップストリームが有力で、ケースデパーニュも交渉していたとのこと。ケースデパーニュは特にスペインチームでバルベルデがツールに出ることが出来ず、それ以上にレース活動自体から出場禁止をくらう可能性がある中で、スペイン人のオールラウンダーのコンタドールはとても欲しい人材だろう。ガーミンはかなり意外だったが・・・エースのクリスチャン・バンデベルデが怪我したりとかあったし、若い、しかも勝てるオールラウンダーは欲しくないチームはないだろう。コンタドールはTTにも強いのでスポンサーのフェルトのイメージにも合致する。
しかも既にフェルトはコンタドールのためにバイクを用意している！！とのこと。
コンタドール一人の話だったらガセかも、何て思うけど、同時にアシスト2名＋メカニックも引き抜くとなるとちょっと現実的な話だ。もう様々なチームがツールの一次選考を終えている時点で変更は可能なのか！？等々実現の可能性には疑問を感じる。アスタナの残り3名に誰を選ぶかによって、コンタドールが孤立するか否かは決まりそうだ。ジロ・デ・イタリアで最初に山岳でアームストロングが遅れた時に、エースのライプハイマーは先頭グループにいたにも関わらず、3人ものアシストがアームストロングに付き添ったのは、既にチームの中では次の"ボス"が誰なのかはっきりわかっていて、少しでもアピールしたかったに違いない。
アスタナの敵はアスタナ
ってのが一番しっくりくる言葉。去年Highroadはスポンサーがなくてツール直前にColumbiaが付いていきなりステージ5勝を上げる大活躍だったが、アスタナの騒動はそれとは間逆の影響を与えそうなことばかり。仮にコンタドールの移籍が実現しなくても、アスタナはアスタナとは間逆にチームへの忠誠心がめちゃくちゃ高いサクソバンク等に分裂した状態のチームで勝てるのだろうか？
今年のツールはドーピング騒動並にアスタナのお家騒動が続きそうな予感がする。

ずっと勝てなかったアームストロングを負かすチャンスだとリースはほくそ笑んでいるに違いない。まだまだ無理かな、と思っていたAndy Schleckが勝てるかな？

Description:Following a request by the UCI ProTour Council (CUPT) on June 17th, the Licenses Commission announces that the procedure opened against Astana to withdraw its license has been provisionally suspended, with immediate effect and for an unspecified length of time.
This suspension will be lifted either at the request of the CUPT if it wishes to reactivate the procedure in question, or if the procedure is permanently dropped.
